We replace broken sliding door handles and hardware for $69 to $189. Most jobs take 15 to 30 minutes. We carry parts for Andersen, PGT, Pella, and other major brands on the truck. Call (772) 207-4146 for same-day service.
When it's time to replace your sliding door handle.
Your sliding door handle gets used dozens of times a day. It's the part people grab, twist, and yank every single time they open or close the door. Over time, the internal mechanism wears out, screws loosen, and the handle itself can crack or snap. Florida's humidity doesn't help either. We've replaced handles on doors as new as three years old in Hutchinson Island condos where salt air corroded the internal springs.
Handle Is Loose or Wobbly
The handle jiggles when you grab it. Tightening the screws doesn't fix it anymore.
Handle Broke Off
The handle cracked or snapped completely. You're using a screwdriver or pliers to open the door.
Latch Won't Engage
You push the handle but nothing catches. The internal latch mechanism is worn or jammed.
Lock Doesn't Turn
The thumb turn or key lock is stiff, sticky, or completely frozen. Common in older Pella and JELD-WEN doors.
Why handles fail faster on the Treasure Coast
Salt air and humidity corrode internal springs and latch pins. We see this constantly in Jensen Beach and barrier island properties. The outside looks fine, but the guts of the handle are rusted solid. That's why a $69 handle swap now prevents a $200+ lock set replacement later.
How we replace your sliding door handle.
Handle replacement is one of the simplest repairs we do. Most jobs take 15 to 30 minutes from start to finish.
Identify the Hardware
We check your door brand, handle type, and mounting pattern. We carry parts for Andersen, PGT, Pella, Milgard, JELD-WEN, and most builder-grade doors.
Remove the Old Handle
We take out the screws, pull the old handle and latch assembly, and inspect the mortise pocket for any damage or corrosion.
Install the New Hardware
New handle goes in with fresh screws. We test the latch engagement and make sure the thumb turn or keyed lock operates smoothly.
Test and Adjust
We open and close the door multiple times, check that the lock fully engages the strike plate, and adjust the door alignment if needed.
Full mortise lock vs. handle-only swap
Sometimes the handle itself is fine but the internal lock mechanism is shot. A full mortise lock replacement runs $129 to $189 and includes the handle, latch, and lock cylinder. If it's just the handle, you're looking at $69 to $99. We'll tell you exactly which one you need before we start.
Handle & Hardware Pricing
* Estimated labor costs. Parts and materials may be additional. We quote the exact price before starting.
Simple handle swaps start at $69. Full mortise lock and handle sets with keyed cylinders are at the higher end. Price includes the part and labor. We confirm your exact cost before any work begins. No hidden fees. Need lock repair too? We bundle services to save you a second trip.

Don't wait on a broken handle
A broken handle means your door can't lock properly, which is a security issue. It also puts stress on the frame when people force the door open from the wrong angle. A quick $69 fix today can prevent a much bigger repair down the road. Check out our guide to sliding door lock security for more tips.
